The installation of the Evogro EC4 is carried out by Evogro personnel or authorised distributors.
Remove all external and interior packing and accessories. Ensure all such material is disposed of safely.
Check that no damage has occurred to the appliance, power cable and plug top during transit. If damage has occurred do not use the appliance.
The appliance should be installed in a well-ventilated room on a flat and level floor.
The appliance is intended for indoor use only.
Protective Coating (EC4 only)
The polished stainless steel surfaces are protected during manufacturing and transport by an adhesive plastic coating.
This should be removed prior to placing your appliance into use. Carefully peel away to reveal the polished stainless steel surface. Care should be taken to ensure that no adhesive residue remains on the surface. Any stubborn or tough adhesive marks can be removed by following the Cleaning Advice in section 5.1.
Plant require fresh air for healthy growth and the cabinet requires fresh air to cool its electronics. In addition to placing the cabinet in a well-ventilated room, take care not to block or obstruct either the air intake grill on the front, or the exhaust grill on the rear of the cabinet. The air intake filter should be cleaned or replaced as instructed via the Evogro app.
The cabinet must stand level to ensure consistent irrigation and drainage across the growing trays.
Models fitted with castors are non-adjustable and therefore a level platform / floor should be provided where the cabinet is to be located.
Where swivel and brake castors are fitted and it has been positioned, please ensure its brakes have been activated by pressing the metal bar down.
Remember to release the brakes before trying to move it.
On models fitted with legs, levelling may be achieved by adjusting the bottom section.
The Evogro EC4 must be secured to a wall using the brackets supplied or other suitable tieback mechanism.
THE CABINET MAY TIP UNLESS A SUITABLE WALL BRACKET / TIEBACK IS FIXED TO THE WALL
The Evogro EC4 must be connected to a 230 V 50 Hz AC single-phase mains supply, with a properly connected earth. It should not be connected to an extension lead.
It will be connected using the supplied supply cord by the installation engineer to an easily accessible switched socket. The Evogro EC4 is supplied with a moulded plug with a replaceable 5 A fuse.
Replacement fuses should be ASTA approved to BS 1362 and have the correct rating. Replacement fuses and fuse covers may be purchased from your local electrical supplier. If the fuse cover is lost, do not use the Evogro EC4 until a suitable replacement is found. In case replacing the fuse does not restore power, contact Evogro Customer Support.
If the supply cord is damaged, a replacement must be obtained from Evogro or its recommended agent.
THE APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
The Evogro EC4 is fully isolated from the mains by following these steps:
Switch off the power on the front panel.
Switch off the power at the wall socket.
Unplug the power cable from the wall socket
To reconnect the Evogro EC4 to the supply, follow the above steps in reverse order.
The Evogro EC4 requires an active network connection, and can be connected using a variety of methods. For additional information, a copy of the Evogro Network Requirements can be obtained from Evogro.
The Evogro EC4 can be connected to a network via a shielded CAT5e Ethernet cable of up to 5 meters using the Ethernet port on the rear.
The Evogro EC4 can be connected to a Wi-Fi network using the built-in Wi-Fi adapter. The supplied antennae should be attached to the external connectors.
The Evogro EC4 can be connected to a mobile (cellular) network by attaching a compatible 3G/4G Modem. For more information contact Evogro Support.
If the Evogro EC4 is equipped with a fresh water inlet, the installation engineer will connect this via the supplied connection kit. The connection kit must not be reused. If any part of the connection kit is damaged, please contact Evogro for a replacement.
The water supply pressure required to run the product is between 1 to 10 bars (0.1 – 1 MPa). The connection kit includes a pressure-reducing valve rated for a maximum pressure of 2 MPa. If your water pressure exceeds this, fit additional pressure reducers.
If the Evogro EC4 is equipped with a waste connection, the installation engineer will attach the hose to the waste port on the rear. The other end must be placed in a suitable waste pipe.
The ambient operating environment of the Evogro Cabinet is:
Temperature: 15°C - 25°C
Relative Humidity: 0 -70%
If there is any possibility that freezing has occurred, switch off the equipment and contact Evogro Support.
